On 1 February 2006, Blackburn winger David Bentley scored the first Premier League hat-trick against Manchester United as Rovers won 4-3.
The match was Bentley's first as an official Blackburn player--he signed with them the day before after spending the first half of the season with them on loan from Arsenal. Playing at home before a crowd of 25,484, he celebrated the move by putting Rovers ahead in the 35th minute, finishing off a free kick that United keeper Edwin van der Sar tipped onto the bar.
United striker Louis Saha returned the favor in the 37th minute, but a poor clearance from Rio Ferdinand allowed Bentley to double his tally four minutes later. Rovers extended the lead to 3-1 before the break when Lucas Neill converted a 45th-minute penalty kick. Then, in the 56th minute, Robbie Savage found Bentley unmarked in the United box; the winger took the chance, claiming the first hat-trick against United since QPR's David Bailey did it in January 1992 when the top flight was still called Division One.
United's Ruud van Nistelrooy, who had come on as a second-half substitute, scored a brace of his own in the 63rd and 68th minutes, but the rally ended when referee Phil Dowd sent Ferdinand off in the 88th minute--Ferdinand's first career red card, earned by having drawn a second yellow card for a challenge on Savage that left the Welshman with a gash on his shin.
The win completed a Blackburn double over United that season, which ended with Rovers in sixth place and United in second. Bentley left Blackburn for Tottenham in 2008 and is currently on loan with Birmingham.

Cristiano Ronaldo Pictures vs Osasuna (30 Jan 2011) La liga
The day turns out to be a nightmare for Cristiano Ronaldo and the team, as they failed to bring home victory against Osasuna. Instead, they ended the match empty handed, with many regrets.
It was the second time Mourinho's squad lost in La liga match this season, which means they 3 more points behind rival Barcelona, who won on their last match over Hercules. Madrid stays with 51 points, while Barcelona climbs up with 58 points.
Here's some of the pictures that clearly showed his desperation on the pitch.

31 January 2009 - No More Waltzing For This Matilda
On 31 January 2009, defender Cheryl Salisbury made the last of her record 151 appearances for the Australian women's national team. She also finished as their all-time leading goalscorer.
Salisbury joined the national team, nicknamed "the Matildas," in 1994 and helped them achieve their first honor by winning the 1995 OFC Women's Championship. That victory qualified the Matildas for the 1995 Women's World Cup, their first appearance in the tournament.
After a first-round exit that year, repeated in 1999 and 2003, they advanced to the 2007 quarterfinals thanks to a late goal from Salisbury. Her 92nd minute strike against Canada in the final group stage match leveled the score at 2-2 and earned a critical point for the Australians, who finished one point better than Canada to take the group's last spot in the knockout stage. Although they lost there to eventual runners-up Brazil, it remains their best performance in the World Cup to date.
Salisbury continued her heroics in her last appearance, a friendly against Italy played at Parramatta Stadium in New South Wales. There, after the Italian goalkeeper fouled forward Sarah Walsh, Salisbury put the Matildas up 2-1 with a 66th-minute penalty kick--her record 38th goal for Australia.
But Italy equalized in the 78th minute and Salisbury was subbed out four minutes later. The match ended 2-2. She moved into coaching shortly afterward, taking charge of New South Wales side Broadmeadow Magic in May 2009.

Katia Aveiro Quotes Just a Metaphore According to Nova Gente
The world press gone wild when they wrote about Katia Aveiro quotes that said "The baby doesn't have a mother, the mother DIED!"
The baby refers to Cris Jr, and it seems that the media made it sounds like Katia really meant that the mother is truly died.
Of course the quotes that supposed to be clearing the rumor about the baby mama drama, actually turns out to be creating a new one. Katia was upset when she said that, and the media was that stupid to take the quotes literally and didn't even think that she was using a metaphore.
Nova Gente, the Portuguese media that first brought the interview has wrote that the international press forgot to read the whole article, and instead only underlined the quotes. They also explained that Katia was just trying to explain in a "metaphore way" that the child custody would still belong to the father, and the biological mother didn't intends to claim the baby.

The photographs and autographs session ended in over an hour later.
Cristiano Ronaldo Arrived at Osasuna (29 Jan 2011)
Real Madrid was having their last training session at 16:30 yesterday at Valdebebas, before they went to Barajas airport on the evening and took them for one and a half hours to Pamplona.
After the they set the foot at the airport, Adebayor became the main target for the media. The newcomer enjoy his first trip with the team, and sat on the plane with Cristiano and spoke during the journey.
At the airport, more than 300 fans waited to greet them. For Jose Mourinho, they even gave him a big applause to showed their impression. And today, at Sunday 30/1, Real Madrid will play against Osasuna, hopefully able to collect full points, as Barcelona already collects 3 more points from their 3-0 victory over Hercules yesterday.

30 January 1937 - A Good Day To Stay At Home
On 30 January 1937, the home sides either won or drew all 35 FA Cup and Football League matches.
Of the 16 FA Cup matches that day, only one involved two top-ten First Division clubs, as 6th place Derby County rolled to a comfortable 3-0 win over 3rd place Brentford in the FA Cup. Other First Division match-ups in the Cup included 15th place Preston North End hammering 14th place Stoke City 5-1, 10th place Everton beating 19th place Sheffield Wednesday 3-0, and 1st place Arsenal crushing 22nd place Manchester United, 5-0. Both Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester United would end the season in the two relegation spots.
Arsenal's margin of victory was the largest in the Cup that day, but was both matched and exceeded in Division Two, where Blackburn beat Newcastle 6-1 and, in the day's most lopsided result, Blackpool rode over Bradford Park Avenue, 6-0.
Meanwhile, Luton Town provided the Cup's shock of the day, as the Third Division South side held reigning League champions Sunderland to a 2-2 draw. Two other Third Division South teams provided upsets, as Millwall defeated First Division Chelsea 3-0 and Exeter City beat Second Division Leicester City 3-1. Exeter's victory looked even more impressive at the end of the season, as Leicester won the Second Division, while Exeter finished 21st in the Third Division South.
Four Cup matches went to replays, including York City's scoreless draw at Swansea. It was part of a pattern for York, who had earned home replays in the two previous rounds. But the pattern broke with Swansea, who won at York, 1-3. In fact, the visiting teams won three of the four replays for that round, with the only exception being Sunderland's 3-1 victory over Luton. Sunderland (pictured) proceeded to win the FA Cup that year, beating Preston North End in the Final.

29 January 1995 - The Death Of Vincenzo Spagnolo
On 29 January 1995, 24-year old Genoa supporter Vincenzo Spagnolo was stabbed before a match against AC Milan. He died later that day while undergoing surgery.
According to reports, Spagnolo was on his way into Genoa's Stadio Luigi Ferraris when he and other Genoa supporters were attacked by a group of approximately 20 Milan ultras, who had traveled to the match in disguise, separate from other Milan supporter groups. The attack escalated into a massive brawl, with police using tear gas to subdue the combatants. Spagnolo, who received a stab wound to the stomach, was one of seven people sent to the hospital.
When word reached the teams at halftime, they decided not to continue with the match, which was scoreless. Italian authorities then canceled all national sporting events for the following weekend. The incident caused such sensitivities between Genoa and Milan that their visiting supporters were not allowed into each other's stadiums until 2010.
Witnesses identified Spagnolo's attacker as 19-year old Simone Barbaglia, an apprentice gardener from Milan.

28 January 2002 - Weah Has The Time Gone?
On 28 January 2002, former FIFA World Player of the Year George Weah ended his 19-year international career as Liberia bowed out of the African Cup of Nations.
Weah, considered my many to be the greatest player Africa has ever produced, was born in Monrovia in 1966. After starring for a handful of African sides, including Mighty Barolle, Invincible Eleven, Africa Sports, and Tonnerre Yaoundé, he joined the Liberian national team in 1988, the same year he moved to Europe to play for Arsène Wenger's Monaco side.
For the next 12 seasons, Weah established himself as one of the world's best strikers, playing for Monaco (1988-92), PSG (1992-95), and AC Milan (1995-2000). In 1995, he won a league and cup double with PSG, while taking them to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League as the tournament's top scorer. That year's performance earned him several individual awards, including the FIFA World Player of the Year, the Ballon d'Or, and his third African Footballer of the Year award (the previous two came in 1989 and 1994).
Despite his success at the club level, however, Weah never replicated it with Liberia. Like his namesake George Best, he is one of the most famous players never to appear at the World Cup--the closest he came was in 2002, when Liberia fell one point shy of qualification. His appearance on 28 January 2002 was his 60th for Liberia, who were eliminated from the Cup of Nations that day after falling to Nigeria, 0-1.
Weah retired in 2003 after playing for a series of different clubs including Chelsea (2000), Manchester City (2000), Marseille (2000-01), and Al-Jazira (2001-03). Afterward, he moved into politics, making an unsuccessful run for the Liberian presidency in 2005. He remains politically active, recently announcing his intention to stage another Presidential campaign in 2011.

27 January 1949 - The Peerless Per Røntved
On 27 January 1949, Werder Bremen captain and Danish Player of the Year Per Røntved was born in Frederiksberg.
Røntved started his professional career as a left winger for Second Division Danish side Brønshøj Boldklub in 1967, but soon switched positions to defense, helping guide the team to promotion at the end of his second season.
He earned his first cap with the Danish senior side in 1970 and captained the side during the 1972 Olympics. The highlight of that campaign was a 3-2 victory over Brazil in the first round, with Røntved scoring in the 50th minute to put the Danes up 2-0. The Brazilians rallied to draw level with goals in the 68th and 69th minutes before an 83rd minute Danish score put Røntved's side ahead for good. That performance led to Røntved winning the 1972 Danish Player of the Year Award.
After the Olympics, Røntved moved to Werder Bremen. He spent the majority of his career there, making 194 league appearances between 1972 and 1979. Although he joined them as a midfielder, he switched positions once more, filling in at sweeper. His new coach, Otto Rehhagel, claimed that Røntved was the second-best sweeper in the world at the time, behind only fellow Bundesliga star Franz Beckenbauer.
In June 1979, Røntved, then 30 years old, moved back to the Danish Second Division with Randers Freja. After three and a half seasons, he rejoined the top flight with Hvidovre IF, then retired in 1983.
He continued to play internationally until 1982 and, in his last appearance, became the first player to make 75 appearances for the Danish national team.

Cristiano Ronaldo Already Prepared For "Kids" Room For A Year
Cristiano Ronaldo bought the house in La Finca, Madrid about a year ago, which cost about €4.9 million. The person who take in charge on the renovation was Joaquin Torres.
Torres said that CR wanted 7 bedroom, 8 bathroom, and also 3 additional rooms. At the front door, we can se the big silver logo of CR , aswell as on the cushions. And Torres was a bit surprise to know that Cris also told him to make a room for kids.
"Ronaldo also asked for a children's room, which we found curious [at the time Torres still did not know that he will become a father]," says Joaquin Torres.
So around a year ago, it's possible that CR already found out about the pregnancy, since the baby mama must've already 5 months pregnant with Cris Jr.

Mourinho Got Adebayor For His Birthday Present
Yes, keep smiling, Mourinho, coz today is your birthday. And it's not just that. He has one other reason to smile......
After longing for a new striker to strengthen his dream team, Real Madrid finally decided to land Adebayor, a new striker to fill in Higuain's place. With the hope that Real Madrid will have another player as a goal machine, just like CR.
Emmanuel Adebayor had some medical test today at Sanitas-La Moraleja Hospital. He was examine by Dr.Carlos Diez, who decided that he is in a tremendous health, and ready to train immediately. Welcome to the club, Adebayor, and for Mourinho, HAPPY 48th BIRTHDAY !!
Lionel Messi Got Booked and Fined For Lifting "Happy Birthday Mom" Shirt
Okay, Messi is not my favorite player, but even I find it ridiculous to fined and at the same time booked him with a yellow for just showing a harmless message to his mom. It's not like the words is insulting anybody, it's a bit to much, but that's nothing wrong with it.
But I'm guessing the fine will be cancelled, since there were few of other players that got fine for doing the same thing, and got their fine canceled.
Cristiano Ronaldo was also lifting his jersey last season when he showed a message for his hometown Madeira that faced a terrible floods and killed a number of people. But it's for a good cause, that's why probably he didn't get fine, if I'm not mistaken.

26 January 1884 - Great Scots
On 26 January 1884, Ireland hosted the very first British Home Championship match, losing 0-5 to eventual winners Scotland.
The previous year, the football associations of the four British Home Nations--England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales--agreed to formalize their regular internationals in an annual tournament. They decided that each of the four members would play single matches against the other three, earning two points for a win and one point for a draw, with the champions being the team with the most points at the end.
The format for the new tournament called for Ireland to play their three matches first, so they welcomed Scotland to Ballynafeigh Park in Belfast for the inaugural match. It wasn't much of a contest, as the Scots rolled to victory with a goal from John Goudie and two each from James Gossland and William Harrower (despite the performance, it was Gossland's only cap for Scotland).
Ireland followed the match with further losses to Wales (6-0) and England (1-8), while Scotland proceeded to win both of their remaining matches (1-0 over England and 4-1 over Wales) to claim the first BHC title. It was the first of four consecutive titles for Scotland, who won the British Home Championship a total of 41 times before the competition came to an end in 1984.

Katia Aveiro Cleared The Baby Drama Rumor
Being questioned over and over again about Cris Jr mother that want's the baby back has finally made Katia Aveiro, CR sister spoke about the rumor.
"There is no woman calling him. There is no mother, no phone calls, no nothing. His mother is dead," denied to 'Nova Gente' magazine.
"This is nonsense. There is no end to where you get. I did not want to talk about this and now I have to tell my brother I said what I'll say. The baby has no mother, " Katia pointed out, and adding "I will not say how he came to us. But I'm assure you that he is the son of my brother, my nephew, is in our blood and that his mother is now my mother, a person who spends 24 hours a day with him. "
"Ronaldo knows what he did, we respect (...) but I guarantee that nobody wants to take the boy," ended Katia.
3 points on this interview....
His mother is now My mother.....well, she is referring Dolly as the mother of Cris Jr, so it's now confirmed that the baby is being cared 24 hours by his grandma, also possible lives in Portugal, where Dolly stays most of her time. But I'm sure they visits Cris often in Madrid (That explains why the baby rooms is very empty on the picture).
His mother is Dead...the magazine is in Portuguese, so probably its just mistranslate, or maybe Katia meant that the mother is not worth to mention, in a bit harsh words.
Now I have to tell my brother I said what I'll said....Which means it's really bugging her to make her brother pissed by telling the press something he won't approve. Well she shouldn't be, Cris is a very loving man, especially to his family. Besides, Katia always defends her brother interms of bad press. Like when Cris got plenty of hate mails when he abandoned his son and chose to spend Christmas with girlfriend Iri.
She said,"The press always highlighted the love Cristiano has for his family and now they changed their mind? Those news make no sense. My brother is happy with his son. It's the most important thing in his life. He was with the family before and after Christmas."
But anyway, asside of the things above, I'm just happy that the baby is CR's, and all the Aveiro's love him. That's what count.

Cristiano Junior Room on "Supercasas"
Few days ago, I wrote about TV program "Supercasas" from LaSexta that shows Cristiano house up close and personal. And he even share the personal room of Cris Jr.
Unlike other babies, Junior room looks so modern, with only a few toys we could find. It's big, but empty, like no one has ever really sleeps in there. But Cris is a very clean, and tidy guy, so maybe he decorate his son's room with his own style.
I wish I could show you the vids here, but I couldn't find the video on Youtube. But will post it if I can find any.

Cristiano Ronaldo,"I Don't Envy Messi At All"
Cristiano Ronaldo talks about his rivalry with Messi in an interview with "La Gazzetta dello Sport". He made it clear that he doesn't feel envy about Messi's winning the Balon d'Or trophy, although he admitted that he prefered Xavi Hernandez.
"I don't feel envy at all with Messi. My priority is to win many Spanish Champions League with Real Madrid, not the Golden Balls"
"I don't have the obsession in having a direct rivalry with him, it's the same I feel for the other players. But one thing is certain, I want to be the best I can be," said the striker.
